Stephen Gilbert

Stephen Gilbert, born July 22 1912, died June 23 2010, was an Irish novelist, best known for his last novel Ratman's Notebook, which was published 1968, more than 15 years after his previous one. There was some confusion about the authorship of Ratman's Notebook after it was assumed that Stephen Gilbert was a pseudonym of Gilbert Ralston, the screenwriter of the novel's first movie adaption Willard (1971), who was also born in 1912.
