Pete Maravich

Peter Press Maravich (born June 22, 1947 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania – died January 5, 1988 in Pasadena, California), known by his nickname Pistol Pete, was an American professional basketball player. He played for the Atlanta Hawks, New Orleans / Utah Jazz and Boston Celtics in the NBA until injuries forced his retirement in 1980. Maravich was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987.
