American music writer and culture critic. She has written for numerous newspapers, magazines and books including the New York Times, People, Vibe, XXL, The Rolling Stone Book of Women In Rock, Rip It Up: The Black Experience in Rock N' Roll and the acclaimed Rock She Wrote; she also co-hosted VH1’s 4 On The Floor.
