Benedetto Zalone
Benedetto Zalone, also known as Zalone da Cento (Pieve di Cento, 1595 - 1644), was an Italian painter of the Baroque period. Rest on the flight into Egypt, Fondazione Cavallini Sgarbi He painted mainly religious subjects. He was a pupil of Guercino. He worked mainly in Rome and in Cento, where he painted a San Matteo and the Vergine for the church of Sant'Agostino. He also painted a San Gregorio with the Saints for the basilica of San Pietro. Some of his works are kept in the Pieve di Cento art gallery.
