Thomas Worth

Thomas Worth (born 1834 in Greenwich Village, New York – died 1917 in Staten Island, New York) was an American artist and comic illustrator. The New York lithography firm of Currier and Ives considered him one of their major contributors. An avid outdoorsman, Worth produced many prints of trotting horses and outdoor scenes. He is also known for numerous comics series including ‟Railway Incidents,” the ‟Howling Swell” and 75 ‟Darktown” prints.
