Lèpore, Ettore. - Historian of Italian antiquity (Naples 1924 - 1990); prof. univ., since 1963 he has taught Greek and Roman history and history of historiography at the University of Naples; Director since 1986 of the Specialization School in Archeology of Naples.
Author of important studies on the history of ancient Campania (in particular on Pompeii and Naples), on the social aspects of Greek colonization, on the sociology of the Greek and Roman world, in which he conveyed his vast literary, linguistic, archaeological and numismatic knowledge
