Franco Fayenz was born and raised in Padua, where he received his law degree.
From an early age he cultivated interest in music and in his hometown he directed the Amici della Musica club in the 1950s, organizing the concerts.
He made his debut as a writer in 1961 with the jazz greats, published in a series edited by Nuova Accademia di Miano by Giulio Confalonieri.
They have followed numerous texts on jazz music and its protagonists, such as Elementary anatomy of jazz, Music for Living, Jazz & Jazz, Jazz tomorrow, Stories of jazz for images and memories, Lennie Tristano, Jazz music and curated the edition Italian of Duke Ellington's autobiography entitled Music is my woman [
