James Grippando

James Grippando is an American novelist and lawyer born in Waukegan, Illinois. He was a law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the eleventh circuit in Atlanta. he served as a trial lawyer and worked on many death penalty appeals. He has written many scholarly works and a series of legal thriller novels featuring criminal defense lawyer, Jack Swyteck, In 2o17, he received the Harper Lee prize for legal fiction.
