Jack McCray

Jack McCray was born and raised in Charleston, S.C. After attending public schools there through tenth grade, he finished high school in Brooklyn, N.Y. and went on to graduate from Shaw University, bachelor’s degree, and Central Michigan University, master’s. McCray has been involved in a number of projects for more than 30 years including efforts in print and broadcast journalism, entertainment, arts and culture. For 25 years, he edited copy, wrote columns, reviewed books, and reported sports, general news and features for the Post and Courier daily newspaper. He currently freelances. He is a jazz columnist for the Post and Courier's Preview magazine.
