Aylmer Vance

Fictional detective created by Alice and Claude Askew. Vance is an agent of the enigmatic Ghost Circle, an organization that is never clearly described. He appears in a series of eight short stories, starting with Aylmer Vance and the Vampire, all originally published in 1914.
