Swingtime Records
In 1947 Los Angeles entrepreneur Jack Lauderdale, one of the first successful black Indi label operators, founded Down Beat Records. He changed the name to Swing Beat Records about October 1949, then finally to Swing Time Records around March 1950. The label enjoyed several R&B hits before his firm folded in 1954.
