Quantum Physics
Quantum physics (also known as quantum theory) is a field theoretical physics which describes nature at the smallest scales of energy levels of atoms and subatomic particles. It encompasses all phenomena and effects based on the fact that certain quantities cannot assume any value, but only fixed values. Current quantum theories, such as quantum field theory, are based on the theory of quantum mechanics, which is therefore often simply equated with quantum physics. Older theories that form the basis for today's knowledge in quantum physics are Planck's law and the Bohr model.
