Wonder Stories

Wonder Stories was an American science fiction magazine founded by Hugo Gernsback in 1929. Gernsback initially launched two monthly magazines: Air Wonder Stories and Science Wonder Stories, which merged in 1930 to become Wonder Stories. In 1936, Gernsback sold Wonder Stories to Beacon Publications. Until October, 1930, Wonder Stories was published in the large bedsheet format. For the next year, Wonder Stories was published as a standard pulp. It returned to the bedsheet format from November, 1931 to October, 1933, and then returned to the standard pulp format. Note: Gernsback also published a quarterly title (Science Wonder Quarterly, later renamed Wonder Stories Quarterly); this magazine is separately indexed.
