Gay Sunshine
Publication began in 1971 and originally started in Berkeley by GLP people. A year later the paper moved to San Francisco as an independent paper of gay liberation, primarily as a radical gay male paper. It printed innovative articles, graphics, poetry and featured interviews of gay writers and performers. Distributed and sold in select stores in cities around the U.S. and stores and movement groups in Canada, England, Australia, Germany, Sweden and Italy. The paper was sent free to gay people in prison and mental hospitals throughout the world. Coordinator and editor of the paper was Winston Leyland.
