Jean-Paul Heck (Steenbergen, May 20, 1965) is a Dutch music journalist and editor-in-chief.
Heck has been working as a music journalist since 1993. He started with the regional newspaper Brabants Nieuwsblad. From that position he also made music stories for the Common Press Service. In 1999 Heck was asked by editor-in-chief Tjerk Lammers to be part of the editorial board of the new music magazine Aloha. In that capacity, Heck interviewed numerous big names in pop music such as James Brown, David Bowie, Van Halen, Robert Plant, Angus Young and many others. Half a year after winning the Jip Golsteijn Journalistiekprijs he was asked by De Telegraaf to write music stories. After the disappearance of Aloha, Heck joined the editors of music magazine OOR. In between, he has also published in, among others, Nieuwe Revu and the jazz magazine Jazzism. In 2008 Heck joined the new jury of the Edison Pop. In 2008 a story appeared from him for the first time in the English music magazines Classic Rock and Mojo. Since 2012, Heck has also been working as a music journalist for Wegener's new press service, De Persdienst.
