Rob van Scheers

Rob van Scheers (1959) is a cultural reporter for the weekly Elsevier and a guest lecturer at Utrecht University. He is the author of the biography of Paul Verhoeven, with whom he wrote Jesus of Nazareth. Van Scheers also published the interview bundles Firebirds and Elvis in the Netherlands. Together with Ronald Giphart, he wrote The love called Feyenoord. After De Grote Parade and De Kleine Parade, Van Scheers published The Jazz Parade, a hidden history of New Orleans and its music. VPRO Boeken stated: "Rob van Scheers has added a new genre to non-fiction literature with his Parades." Together with draftsman Gustavo Garcia, Rob van Scheers created Gagarin, a beautiful graphic novel on the occasion of the 50th birthday of the first person in space.
