Tuney Tunes

Tuney Tunes

Tuney Tunes was a Dutch music magazine that was founded and was published by Jan van Haaren (printer) from Eindhoven between 1942 and 1966. The first song rolled from his press in 1942 in the Second World War in a very small edition. It was a small book with in the beginning only texts of American songs that Jan himself wrote down by listening to the songs on the radio. The price was mentioned in francs in the war to fool the German occupier. Because American music was forbidden, especially when it was brought by blacks. But Jan van Haaren was a great music fan and wanted to start a music magazine in the 1930s. But then his father, also a printer, did not want that.
