Macmillan's Colonial Library
The Macmillan Colonial Library was formally launched on 1 March 1886, aimed at providing cheap books for the overseas colonial markets of India, Australia and New Zealand. Some 1,739 titles were published under the imprint of the Colonial Library and its successors. In 1913, the name of the Colonial Library edition was changed to the Empire Library, and in 1937, the Overseas Library. The venture finally came to an end in 1960.
