Scipio Aemilianus

Scipio Aemilianus

Publius Cornelius Scipio Aemilianus Africanus Numantinus (185–129 BC), primarily known as Scipio Aemilianus, or also Scipio Africanus Minor, or Scipio Africanus the Younger, was an important politician and general of the Roman Republic, who served as consul twice, in 147 and 134 BC. He was the natural son of Aemilius Paullus, but was adopted into the Cornelii Scipiones—the most prominent family at the time—by a son of Scipio Africanus.
