Ottoman Empire

The Ottoman Empire (Ottoman Turkish: دولت عليه عثمانیه‎, literally "The Sublime Ottoman State"; Modern Turkish: Osmanlı İmparatorluğu or Osmanlı Devleti; c. 1299–1922/1923) was a state and caliphate that controlled much of Southeast Europe, Western Asia and North Africa between the 14th and early 20th centuries.
