Dystopian fantasy series by Steven R. Boyett, taking place on a version of Earth in which natural laws changed circa 1980 such that magic is possible, but scientific concepts such as electricity no longer work. As of 2020, there are two novels in the series, Ariel and Elegy Beach. Boyett was working on a third novel, Avalon Burning, in the early 2010s, but has not updated its status recently.
