Andrew Smith (4)

Andrew Smith was born in Greenwich Village, New York. After studying philosophy and politics at the University of York, Smith moved to London, where he toured and released records with post-punk and electro bands for a few years. He began his writing career at the British music paper Melody Maker. From there he moved to Raygun magazine, The Face, The Guardian, The Sunday Times and The Observer’s storied LIFE magazine. In 2002, Smith left journalism to write his UK #1 and international bestseller "Moondust: in Search of the Men Who Fell to Earth." He now divides his time between writing and documentary film. His most recent book, "Totally Wired: On the Trail of the Great Dotcom Swindle", is about the bizarre life of the New York Web pioneer Josh Harris.
