Ignotus Hugó (born. <a href="/c/books/credit/791339/veigelsberg-hugo/">Veigelsberg Hugó</a>) was a Hungarian poet, writer and journalist.
He was the general editor in the first 20 years of the Hungarian periodical <a href="/c/books/credit/791229/nyugat/">Nyugat</a>.
“Ignotus” was initially a pseudonym for its writings, but in 1907 he legally took his name first in the form of Ignotus-Veigelsberg Hugó, later in the form of <a href="/c/books/credit/782861/ignotus-hugo/">Ignotus Hugó</a>. He continued to sign his writings in Hungarian as "<a href="/c/books/credit/791358/ignotus/">Ignotus</a>" and his writings in German as "Hugó Ignotus" (the word Ignotus means ‘unknown’ in Latin).
