Aksel Sandemose
Aksel Sandemose (born 19 March 1899, Nykøbing Mors, Denmark - died 6 August 1965, Copenhagen, Denmark), baptised Axel Nielsen, was A Danish-Norwegian writer, mostly known for the novels En sømand går i land (1931) and En flygtning krydser sit spor (1933). In the latter novel, he introduced the concept "Janteloven" (Law of Jante) comprising the repression and the pettiness in the fictitious Danish provincial town of Jante. Sandemose emigrated to Norway in 1929.
