Anansi

Anansi is a folktale character originating from the traditions of the Akan people in West Africa. He is a trickster, a master storyteller, and a shapeshifter alternating between human and spider forms. He is also known in the Caribbean and other Afrodiasporic areas, having been brought over by enslaved people. Also known as: Ananse, Kwaku Ananse, Hapanzi, Nanzi, Anancy, Aunt Nancy (South US)
