Lesznai Anna

Lesznai Anna

Lesznai Anna (born Moscovitz Amália) was a Hungarian writer, painter, designer, and key figure in the Hungarian avant-garde. In 1919 Lesznai emigrated to Vienna along with sons and her companion, an artist and illustrator fifteen years her junior whom she knew from the Sunday Circle. The couple eventually married and, faced with the rising tide of anti-Semitism in Europe, immigrated to the United States in 1939.
