N. J. Dawood

Nessim Joseph Dawood (27 August 1927 – 20 November 2014) was an Iraqi Jewish translator, who is best known for his translation of the Quran. Invited by Sir Allen Lane to translate a selection of tales from the Thousand and One Nights into English, to mark the publication of Penguin No. 1001 in 1954.
