Dell Publishing is an imprint of Penguin Random House. Dell Publishing was founded by George T. Delacorte, Jr. During the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, Dell was one of the largest publishers of magazines, including pulp magazines. In 1988, it became part of Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Group, Inc. when owner Bertelsmann consolidated a number of their publishing houses. In 1998, it assumed its current form within Penguin Random House LLC when Penguin was acquired by Bertelsmann.
