Doubleday's Foundation imprint began in 1988, appropriately enough producing "Prelude to Foundation" by Isaac Asimov as one of its first titles. It was the imprint used for all of Doubleday's sf titles, and published between 10 and 20 titles a year, usually in simultaneous trade paperback and hardcover editions.
