Steve Jackson's Sorcery!

Steve Jackson's Sorcery! (or just Sorcery!) is a four-part, single-player adventure gamebook series written by Steve Jackson. The first volume, The Shamutanti Hills was published in 1983, initially in a slipcase edition along with a supplementary book, The Sorcery! Spell Book, and was followed by Kharé - Cityport of Traps and The Seven Serpents in 1984. The final volume, The Crown of Kings was published in 1985. The series was initially targeted towards more mature readers than the main Fighting Fantasy franchise to which it belongs, and the first two titles were first published in the UK by Penguin Books. From the third book onwards the series was moved to their Puffin imprint, as were reprints of the first two titles. Originally published as a standalone series outside the main Fighting Fantasy series numbering, it was later integrated into the Wizard Books revival as part of their main, numbered series. When Scholastic began publishing Sorcery!, they were also part of their series.
