NotesThis catalogue coincides with an exhibition at the NRW-Forum, 27 September 2014 – 11 January 2014, presenting for the first time in Germany, the entire photographic spectrum of 50 years of Meyerowitz’s photography. Apart from the early black and white and colour photography of the 1960s, images from all working projects such as Cape Light, Portraits, Between the Dog and the Wolf and Ground Zero are presented and allow the visitor both a photographic and cultural comparison between Europe and the U.S.A. Alongside William Eggleston and Stephen Shore, Joel Meyerowitz is one of the most important representatives of the New Color Photography movement of the 1960s/70s. His early street photography of New York and the achromatic view of light at Cape Cod in particular remain icons of contemporary photography to this day. This beautiful catalogue includes texts by Jörg Sasse, Ralph Goertz and Joel Meyerowitz. English and German text.
