| Notes | The seventh edition of Joel Whitburn's "Top Pop Albums" series, which contained the research of Billboard's Pop Albums charts (mostly the Billboard 200), Midline/Catalog charts, as well as the Christmas charts from January 1, 1955 to December 26, 2009. For the first time ever, albums that appeared on Billboard's "Bubbling Under" albums chart were integrated into the research. Also, hundreds of non-charted albums from the 1955-64 era (when the Albums chart had less positions) by major artists were featured in the artist section. Another feature was that some major artists had their charted albums list divided in subcategories (Greatest Hits & Compilations, Live Albums, etc.). This was the first time since the first edition that did not feature album tracks in the book. |
