| Notes | Foreword: A remarkable characteristic of our time is the number of people of keen intelligence and business acumen who have examined the claims of Spiritualism, and believe that it demonstrates human survival and proves the continuation of character, memory, and personal responsibility after the death of the material body. When such men as Richet, Crawford, Flammarrion, Lodge, Barret, Schrenck-Notzing, and hosts of others vouch for the phenomena, it is presumption to accuse Mr. Jebb of self-deception. Mr, Jebb is a well-known Glasgow business man and gives his experiences here in a quaint, lucid way, which commands our interest at once. He, along with many ministers and laymen in our Churches, sees the advantage of Spiritualism rightly and reverently used. It is very brave of him to give these facts to the world; and surely his desire to help others into knowledge of a truth which has helped him is altogether commendable. I can promise readers a very interesting and thought-compelling book, with a well defined religious tone. WILLIAM A. REID 1st May, 1925. |
