| Notes | The fifth edition of Joel Whitburn's "Top Pop Albums" series, which contained the research of Billboard's Pop Album charts (mostly the Billboard 200) from January 8, 1955 to June 30, 2001. This was the first edition to feature the research of Billboard's Midline/Catalog albums, as well as all of the titles that charted on Billboard's Christmas Albums chart. Tracks were listed under every artist's listing, including from those sub-charts. This was the only edition to feature the "CD Availability" for each title, as compact discs would eventually faze out later in time. Also only featured here are 200 pictures of Joel's favorite album covers from past to present.
