NotesThis was the first edition exclusively covering the Billboard chart history of Christmas/seasonal songs and albums that charted from 1920 to 2003. All major music charts (Pop, R&B, Country, Adult Contemporary, Rock and Dance/Disco), as well as Billboard's special Christmas and Children's Singles charts (this was the first Record Research book to feature the latter) were researched, and published in the basic Record Research format. The same would go for the Albums chart, as it would feature all Christmas albums that charted on Billboard's Pop, R&B, Children's and Country LP's charts. The complete Christmas Albums chart history from 1952 to up to that time was included. Also, for the first time, would be Record Research's inaugural use of Billboard's Jazz albums chart (1967-2003) research. Tracks for all albums were shown underneath every album, and an index of those tracks were in the back section. The "Singles" section had Top 20 artists photos and their rank shown next to the artists, as the "Albums" section would show the same but for its Top 40 artists. No ranking list is shown for either section. Features several color photos of charted and non-charted Christmas picture sleeves, album covers, etc. Joel Whitburn also shares his special Christmas memories with a story and old pictures throughout the book. Dedicated to the Three C's: Nat "King" Cole, Perry Como and Bing Crosby Special thanks to the staff of Record Research The book had been out of print for a long time, but has recently been re-printed (November 2018).
