| Notes | The first (and very likely, only) Record Research book to feature non-Pop music research from the Music Vendor publication (which later became Record World) during its entire existence. Contains the research of the publications' Country and Western singles charts from October 4, 1954 (its first issue) to August 10, 1982 (its final issue). The book features several titles and artists not in any other Record Research book, as there are nearly 1,700 "new" records and 200 "new" artists. Needless to say, several obscure records are listed in the book! Titles that did not make Billboard's Country Singles chart are marked with a star. Joel wished a special note of thanks to John Rumble of the Country Music Hall of Fame and to Randy Price for providing Record Research with some of the missing charts. In addition, he thanked the Record Research staff. |
