| Notes | Leslie Thompson was a black Jamaican born musician who came to live permanently in Britain in 1929 and from that time was active in music and show business. He worked with Louis Armstrong, Noel Coward, Charles Cochrane, Spike Hughes and many others. As told to Jeffrey P. Green [as per title page] actually involved transcribing taped interviews with Leslie Thompson which were sent to him so he could make amendments, changes and corrections "as he wished". Finally, a draft of the complete text was sent to him and he made further alterations... so the entire text of this autobiography was approved and checked by Leslie Thompson [from Preface]. |
