NotesThe first (and likely to be the only) Record Research publication that chronicles the Radio & Records charts, done in the basic Record Research format. Radio & Records was a low-budget newspaper mostly used by radio staff that started on October 5, 1973 and ended on June 5, 2009. It featured charts that were based strictly on radio airplay at Top 40 stations around the United States. The book is noted to have 225 songs and 65 artists that are not in Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Singles book. It features a few popular songs that charted as album cuts before 1990 (Madonna's "Into The Groove" and Elton John's "Pinball Wizard") as well as several from the mid-'90s to 2009.
