| Notes | The Comparison Book contains every song that appeared on any of the main pop singles charts of the three top music magazines, Billboard, Cash Box or Record World/Music Vendor, when these three periodicals existed together, from 1954-1982. The research starts with the date of October 4, 1954, when Music Vendor debuted, and it ends on the date of April 10, 1982 when Record World (which replaced Music Vendor) released its last issue. All artists and songs that charted on those three periodicals appear in the book. This includes titles that did not appear in Record Research's Hit Records 101-150 1959-1982 book. Additional details on artists and songs (including B-sides, bios, awards, label data, etc.) are not in this book. |
