Notes094 22pp (including 'Notes', 'Bibliography' and comments 'On the Plates') plus 24 color facsimiles. The original woodblock prints were done by Hu Cheng Yen, a master of colour printing in China during the late 16th Century whose work has only seriously been examined since the 1940's. An important reference for collectors and scholars alike, this volume provides a brief history of polychrome woodblock printing in China during the end of the Ming Dynasty. A copy in string-tied grey paper in grey boards with paper label printed in red and black to upper board; boards are secured by two white ribbon ties that extend to the fore-edges to enclose the book. Slipcase is missing. Date 1946 undocumented.
