Mau Heymans

Maurits Heymans is one of the most productive Dutch Disney artists. Born on 14th April 1961, he is the younger brother of Disney artist Bas Heymans. During their time living together in Amsterdam and producing Underground Comix, Mau discovered some old Disney comics in an antiquarian bookshop, which were familiar from his childhood. Inspired by the thought of making a living as a comic artist, Mau spent almost a year practicing the drawing of Disney characters in hopes of reaching a level similar to the artists of the old comic books, before he was finally content with his work. He has been writing and drawing Duck stories since 1986.
