Marvel Masterworks

A series of originally hardcover and later paperback collections of classic Marvel comics. Numbering is confusing. The first 27 were published between 1987 and 1994 and were consecutively numbered. When the series returned in the year 2000, some editions featured the Masterworks numbering, some featured volume numbers for series and some featured no numbering at all. The series continues to be published.
