| Notes | Printed on black stock with uv green ink + copper and silver metallic, hand numbered ----- In the early 1870s, the first baseball team to play for Pittsburgh was known as The Raconteurs. This was prior to the formation of the Allegheny Base Ball Club in 1876. At the start of the 1891 season, The Alleghenies renamed themselves The Pirates, as a nod to the distinct eye patches worn by those pioneering players. Like baseball, this poster was a team effort. Players included Julian Baker, Roe Peterhans and Patrick Keeler. Up to bat on the printing mound was Baker Prints. |
