Eissporthalle - Berlin, Germany

Address
DescriptionThe Eissporthalle (full reference: Eissporthalle an der Jafféstraße) was a multifunctional arena, where mainly ice hockey was played. With its opening on 28 October 1973, it was regarded as the most modern of its kind in Germany. After years of discussion in the Berlin Senate, the arena was demolished in April/May 2001 as part of the southern expansion of the exhibition grounds. Thanks to an insertable wooden board floor, it was also possible to use it for other sports or concerts. Numerous rock and pop concerts took place there. On 7 July 1980 Led Zeppelin gave a concert here which was to become the last Led Zeppelin concert for 27 years. The Austrian singer Falco recorded a concert in the arena on 27 October 1986 as part of his "Emotional" world tour, which was released after his death under the title Live Forever.
