| Notes | The most professional and best sounding Walkman ever made was used by many reporters and professionals in the field, replacing the older TCM-D5M with better features and more compact size and weight.
Most professional people brought more battery packs with them. The battery indicator would not light up completely with rechargable batteries, the indicator LED was not at the same light level accross the models produced in the 18 years of production. Most companies offering the same model over an extended period of time will face challenges making the product appear and feel the same way to users.
Caution for those lucky enough to score one: The AC/DC input has no protection from reversed polarity power - applying wrong power even for a mere minute or two will brick the device.
Original accessories for this device include a faux leather casing with deep red interior and black exterior, and a neck holder which attached to two metal prongs one on each side of the device.
Original sticker with Sony well known dot design ordained the top door of the deck. it is uncertain wether this sticker was applied at the end of production when it fell out of general use. |
