VCL Video

VCL-Video GmbH was a German home media distributing company, founded in 1981 In 1983, Virgin Group and Ringier AG participated in the company, renamed to VCL / Virgin Communications GmbH. In 1989 the shares were bought back. In 1990, LIVE Entertainment (former International Video Entertainment [IVE]), the home video subsidiary of Carolco, participated in the company, renamed to VCL/Carolco Communications GmbH. In 1996 the company was renamed to VCL Communications GmbH. In 1999 the VCL Film + Medien AG was founded and was the future parent company of VCL Communications GmbH. The company filed for insolvency in 2010. Business is discontinued.
