Festival Del Film Locarno

The Locarno Film Festival (until 2016 Festival del film Locarno, 2017-2018 Locarno Festival) has been taking place in August in the town of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland since 1946. It is one of the oldest film festivals in the world after the Venice Film Festival and the Moscow Film Festival, both founded in the 1930s, and the Cannes Film Festival and the Karlovy Vary Film Festival (all founded in 1946). Like these, it is one of the film art festivals with a feature film competition in accordance with the guidelines of the film producer association FIAPF (A category festival).
