Majestic is a German film company that operates both as a film distributor and as a film production company.
Majestic Filmproduktion GmbH and Majestic Filmverleih GmbH were founded in 2006 by the German film distributor and producer Benjamin Herrmann and the media investor David Groenewold in Berlin. Groenewold's shares later took over the Odeon film he controlled. Majestic Home Entertainment GmbH was founded in 2008 to evaluate video rights. The distribution (cinema and video) ran until 2019 through the German subsidiary of the American studio 20th Century Fox. In 2011 Benjamin Herrmann took over 100% of the shares in the Majestic companies held by Odeon Film.
