Studiocanal GmbH

Studiocanal GmbH (STUDIOCANAL) in Berlin is the German division of the French media group Studiocanal. The Berlin subsidiary is one of the largest German distributors for cinema films and a large provider of DVDs and BDs. The studio channel group, which is 100% part of the French Groupe Canal +, also co-produces cinema films and is active in the trading of licenses for film and television rights. Studiocanal GmbH, founded on September 1, 2011, is the successor to the former Kinowelt GmbH, based in Leipzig, which was taken over in 2008 by Vivendi, parent company of Canal +.
