Carla Gravina is an Italian actress and politician.
Starting from the sixties she started working in the theater. She made her debut in 1960 playing Giulietta in Verona as part of the Shakespearean Festival, together with Gian Maria Volonté, who became her life partner for many years, and with whom she also shared a strong political commitment. After years of theatrical commitment, in 1967 she returned to the cinema with more mature roles, playing I sette fratelli Cervi by Gianni Puccini and, the following year, Banditi a Milano by Carlo Lizzani alongside Volonté. The role of the possessed Ippolita Oderisi in the film The Antichrist (1974), by Alberto De Martino, is of a completely different kind.
